Abstract:In this paper, the safety hazards in the experiment “The extraction, separation, and physicochemical properties identification of chloroplast pigments” were analyzed, including flammable and explosive hazardous chemicals, precursor chemicals, highly corrosive and toxic chemicals. Further, the corresponding improvements have been made. It mainly included the following aspects. 1) We guide students to detect whether there is peroxide in ether, 2) reduce the use of flammable or explosive hazardous chemicals and precursor chemicals, 3) reduce the concentration of strong acids and alkali, 4) replace toxic and precursor chemicals with low toxicity drugs, the hidden dangers such as explosion, chemical corrosive burns, poisoning, and the loss of precursor chemical are eliminated as far as possible. We should take concrete measures to prevent problems before they occur.
