Abstract:STEM activities have been proven effective in the development of Chinese students’ Core Competencies and Values. STEM activities integrating science and engineering practices are in demand to facilitate both researches and implementations of STEM education. In the Compulsory Education Science Curriculum Standards(2022 edition), “technology, engineering and society” is made a core concept of the discipline along with “engineering design and actualization”. This article presents a STEM activity that integrating science and engineering practices in which students are required to design a trebuchet applying the knowledge of levers and springs.
