This study expanded the secondary school ecobottle experiment by choosing an open aquatic terrestrial dual system ecobottle (TerrAqua Column) and adding 5% microplastic PVC (100 μm) as a contaminant to the soil of the ecobottle in the experimental group for a two-week observation experiment. The average number of days to maintain ecological balance in the experimental group was reduced to 4.75 days compared to 10.75 days in the control group, which demonstrated the negative impact of microplastics on ecosystem stability in the ecological bottles.
